Bishop Pink


Bishop Pink attended the local public schools and graduated from J.W. Darden High School in 1969. He attended Tuskegee University majoring in Pre Med/Biology and Chemistry until being drafted in December of 1972. He served as Squadron Leader of the U.S. Air Force for 1½ years receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1974. He also served in the Alabama Air National Guard/187TAC Clinic receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1978. He received a J.T. Phase 1&2 B.A. from Mid-Western University, Wichita Falls, TX majoring in Medical Technology. Other studies include Auburn University/School of Business, Southern Union State Junior College and Birmingham Bible Baptist College. He has also attended workshops; namely; the following: Drug Prevention; Volunteerism, Fund Raising; Substance Abuse, Juvenile Delinquency; Counseling,Governor’s Conference on Illiteracy, Planning and Volunteer Recruiting, Church Government; Leadership and Stewardship, Seminars of Smith’s Ministerial Conference and Leadership Training Seminars.

Bishop Pink was the Assistant Pastor of his home church, Mt. Sinai Baptist from May of 1981 until March of 1982. He began his Pastorate at the Peace and Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church of Coosa County, AL in April of 1982. During his Pastorate at Peace and Goodwill, the Lord has accomplished many things under his leadership. Worship Services have grown from one Sunday a month to services being held every Sunday and a Bible Class being held each Wednesday night.With church approval and cooperation a Deacon Discipleship Program was implemented with classes being held each Saturday morning. Church auxiliaries were reorganized and activated. A computer was purchased to organize and maintain accurate records of all church operations which include church membership roll, bulletins, and up-to-date financial statements of all members, etc.By the grace of God, he was able to organize a food closet that has served an average of 2,000 pounds of food a month in the Coosa County Community and established Food Share Coosa which houses: Food/share Goodwill, Early Rose and Goodwater; community programs that serve approximately 1,000 people a month. He also organized an adult night school for illiteracy students. The church was renovated and a church bus was purchased.
